Silver Jewellery Taster - Half day (10:30 – 3:30pm) -  £78.00

This workshop is an introduction to Silver Clay where you will learn the basic skills and techniques in a fun and informative environment. No experience is necessary and even if you have no idea of what to create, we have displays of jewellery, designs and textures giving you inspiration before making your piece/s. It is important that you make a beautiful piece of jewellery you would like to cherish from your day! You have the option of making a pendant (including an 16/18 inch sterling sterling chain) or up to 2 pairs of hook style earrings (including 2 pairs of sterling silver earring hooks) using 7g of Silver Clay. You can purchase more Silver Clay should you wish to make larger pieces and many customers upgrade to a maximum of 10g (£6 extra) to ensure a matching pair of earrings to compliment their pendant. During the workshop, Maria will guide you through the techniques of handling, shaping, forming and choosing one of the many texture plates to make your piece/s unique. This is also a great workshop for returning customers you wish to spend a few hours creating new pieces and refining their previous skills.

In addition to the basic techniques you have the option of purchasing a kiln fireable gemstone to embed in your piece to add sparkle. It is also possible to leave your pieces with me for soldering , so you could even consider making cufflinks/keyring or post style earrings to be posted onto you after your day. There is a charge for this service. As this workshop covers lunchtime, it is advisable to bring a packed lunch with you. The village shop is just a short stroll away if you wish to take a wander around the beautiful village of Silverton during your lunch break.

The finishing touches are very special and personal to the individual so you will have a choice of upgrading to heavier or longer chains or a Silver bracelet or bangle if you wish. Standard sterling silver chain/earring wires are included. At the end of the session you will be presented with your finished piece gift packaged to take home.
